As many faced layoffs and other financial pressures throughout COVID-19, we knew that many families within our communities would need access to virtual financial resources. In March, we partnered with Ortus Academy to help them offer their effective financial education course to families, employees, and businesses for free.
In March, many businesses woke up to a new reality. They were trying to find ways to serve the community with their doors closed. To help families in need and support local businesses during COVID-19, we reached out to Fell’s Point toy store aMuse Toys. In a partnership with the store and its owner, Claudia Towles, we sponsored donations of toys, games and arts and crafts to Ronald McDonald House Charities Maryland.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we got our team together to write a few sweet notes for children at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Our team faced freezing temperatures to support Special Olympics Maryland and their 8,033 athletes for the annual Polar Bear Plunge.
I wish to thank you for all of your agency support and encouragement. The last two months have been very stressful due to the accounts going legal. It has been also very rewarding to get through this process and have a good grip on our future and we have started this planning and example for our children.
